There are some spectacular walks on the mountain range behind the house. Some are easy, some not. The tourist office has a print out of the walks in the area. Just behind Highpoint are some caves with stone age cave paintings in them.

The walks around Silvermine, a popular braai and picnic area, take you to vantage points where you can see both oceans at the same time. Other walks can take you towards Constantia and on to Table Mountain.

The City Council have just opened overnight facilities for those who want to make lengthier treks.

There are plenty of guided walks that you can join and again the local tourist office in Muizenberg will provide the latest information.
